Earnest & Boyle is the brain child of Lucy Margaret Hicks. Lovingly named for her parents, Lucy opened the salon space to create a friendly and professional environment within the heart of Chepstow, South Wales.

Earnest & Boyle is a hair space that specialises in both colour, cutting & finishing and also offers bespoke in salon and at home wash and care systems to help to encourage your hair to stay healthy and strong.

Established in November 2021 Lucy has big plans for such an intimate space but is ready to take on the challenge.

Those big plans grew legs and in January 2024 Lucy expanded the salon to create a co partner environment. Gathering a group of like minded hairdresser into one space to create something really special

 “In 2000 I left school fresh faced ready to take on the world of hairdressing. Starting my career at Tony & Guy I quickly found my passion for the industry that I still love so much today. After 2 years I moved back to South Wales & started my career in Chepstow as a junior stylist.

Over the years Lucy has worked in all aspects of hairdressing.

Original working as a Salon Stylist moving her way up to Salon Director, then into Management & Education, teaching and supporting with vocational training at College level and finally working as a Creative Education Hair Colour Specialist for one of the biggest brands in the world.

Lucy’s role saw her educate all levels of hairdresser within the UK & Europe. She also delivered Virtual education on a global scale, led colour for photo shoots that have been used across the globe, taught on an international level & had a fantastic time travelling where ever the role took her.

Although she loved her time she felt there was something missing….interaction with clients! Which is what made Lucy open her own salon space. After 2 years of running a fully booked column week on week - Lucy made the decision to expand and grow Earnest & Boyle & what a journey that has been!

Lucy is a consistently driven and professional person. Constantly keeping her head in the future to ensure she offers best practice and a high standard to all her clients.
